Johann Baptist August Cramer (1860–1912) was a Swiss-German neuropathologist and psychiatrist. He earned his medical doctorate in 1887 and worked at a mental asylum in Eberswalde from 1889. In 1895, he received his habilitation in psychiatry at the University of Göttingen, later becoming a professor and clinic director. Cramer contributed significantly to clinical psychiatry and brain pathology, co-authoring a textbook on nervous disorders in children. Notable works include “Gerichtliche Psychiatrie,” a treatise on forensic psychiatry.
