Hermann Emminghaus (1845–1904) was a German psychiatrist and neurologist. He did contribute to the field of psychopathology, but his notable work is often associated with forensic psychiatry.

One of his well-known works is “Allgemeine Psychopathologie zur Einführung in das Studium der Geistesstörungen” (General Psychopathology as an Introduction to the Study of Mental Disorders), which was published in 1878. In this work, Emminghaus explored various aspects of psychopathology, providing an introduction to the study of mental disorders. His work contributed to the understanding and classification of psychiatric disorders during that time.
