Hermann Rorschach (1884–1922) was a Swiss psychiatrist who created the Rorschach inkblot test, a widely used psychological assessment tool. Born on November 8, 1884, in Zurich, Switzerland, Rorschach’s test involves subjects interpreting inkblot images to reveal aspects of their personality and thought processes. He died at the age of 37 in 1922, but his legacy lives on through the enduring use of the Rorschach test in psychology.
